Shampoo for Cats

Your cat's coat needs regular care to keep its qualities. Contrary to what people often think, an occasional bath with a suitable product does it good.

Which cat shampoo should you choose?

The table below gives the product to pick according to what you observe on your animal, not according to its breed. Prices and reviews appear on each product sheet, just above.

A cat's skin pH is not ours: it is slightly acidic where ours is rather alkaline. A product made for humans strips it, even when it is sold as gentle.

Washing your cat without water, in four steps

Most cats refuse the bathtub. Dry shampoo solves the problem with no bath, no rinsing and no struggle.

1. Brush first

Remove dead hair and knots before anything else. On a cluttered coat the product stays on the surface and does nothing.

2. Apply from ten centimetres

Spray Lady Dry Bath, or sprinkle Brushing Powder, holding the bottle about ten centimetres away. Avoid the head and the eyes.

3. Work it in

Massage with your fingertips, against the lie of the hair, down to the skin. That is where the product captures sebum and soiling.

4. Brush vigorously

Take the brush again and remove all the product. What you take out carries the grease and the dust with it.

Lady Dry Bath is a spray lotion, Brushing Powder an ultra fine mineral powder. Both are worked in the same way.

Why Ladybel

Ladybel has manufactured in France for more than forty years the products used by professional breeders and groomers, and controls every stage, from the choice of raw materials to delivery.

Every shampoo in the range is formulated for a cat's skin and hair, not adapted from a dog formula. That is what professional groomers ask for: a care product that cleans without stripping, and leaves the coat supple enough to be brushed straight after grooming. The gentlest cat shampoos in the range also suit kittens, from six weeks old.
